オーストラリア旅行 21日目ブリスベン

いよいよ最終日。

まだ風が強いようです。ゴールドコーストにいこうと思ったのですが「日本人と日本語の看板ばっかりだよ」と言われたので、まぁ、なんだ、近所で釣りでもしてゆっくり過ごしましょう。

車で10分のところにある湾にかかった2本の橋のうちもう使ってない方。長い！暑い！ヒィヒィ。真ん中の方まで行かないと水深がないのですよ。

まずはビール！カスケードのライト(アルコール度数2.8)を買ってきたので朝からでも平気。暑いし。

餌はエビ(芝エビっぽい)とイカ(ホタルイカっぽい)を買ってきました。驚くことにセブンイレブンで売っています。逗子も見習え！

しばらく魚に餌をやる人を演じていましたが、よし釣れた！フグが。

フグしか釣れないことを笑う前に、この巨大なハリとエサで見事に口にフッキングさせる腕を褒め讃えよ。

食事と買い物の後に場所を変えてまた竿を出す。ググーンとしたアタリはあるんだけどフッキングはせず。なんだろう？クヤシイ。

と、目の前にイルカ。そういえばここはジュゴンも住んでるんだっけ。キャベツを丸ごとエサにしたら釣れるかな？とか言ったらブローディーが本気で怒る。冗談だってば。

空は真っ赤な夕焼け。フィナーレにふさわしいな。

夜は俺の希望でまたもや「Hog's Breath Cafe」へ。ブローディーの両親とブローディーの兄夫婦、お母さんのお友達。大勢で。みんなワクワク。ここは店員さんも明るい人が多くていい感じですね。

今回はヒッコリーフレーバーを頼んでみました。もちろんMEGA CUT！400g。

ジュ〜シ〜…なんだけど、このまえと比べてなんか味が抜けてるかな。それでも十分おいしいからパクパクと平らげたんだけど、帰りの車の中でみんな同じように思っていたみたい。おしいね。

デザートはマッドケーキ。泥ケーキ。チョコとココアとバターをたっぷりと使ったしっとりしたケーキ。これはもうオーストラリアで食べて大好きになった。コクがあってほんとにおいしいんですよ。うまいうまい。

たくさん飲んで食べて満足して少し夜道を散歩。うーん、まだ帰るって実感がないな。明日の今頃はじぶんちの布団の中なんだよなぁ…

【オーストラリア豆知識】

オーストラリアのお店はだいたい5時で閉店します。マジっすか！？スーパーも電気屋さんも洋服屋さんもみんな電気を落としちゃいます。日本に慣れちゃったブローディーはものすごく不便だとぼやいていたけど、まぁ、健全だと思うな。日本のスーパーなんか夜中11時まで開いてるもんね。

ランチまでちょっと時間があきそうなので腹おさえにチーズとベーコンのパイ。しかしたくさんパイを食べたなぁ！

オーストラリア旅行記、楽しく読ませていただきました。
実はロンリープラネット「オーストラリア」編の翻訳をやった時、この地域が担当だったんです！　
おお、ユンゲラ！とかタリー川ラフティングとか叫びつつ、懐かしく思いながら見ていました。
今度はニュージーランド、どうですか？　
南島のミルフォード・サウンドのトレッキングなんかも楽しそうですよ。

ミルフォード・サウンドはきれいだけど人は多いそうですよ。すごく人気があるのでみんなはスケジュールで毎日予約した山小屋に移動しなければなりません。値段も高いと聞きました。その周辺のほかのトレール（例：Routeburn, Kepler）に行ってもまだとてもきれいですけど、もっとゆっくりハイキングしてもいいし、人は少ないです。

なんかここも、ものすごく日本人観光客が多いみたいですねぇ。もしハイキングをするなら誰もいないところがいいです(^^;

やまぐちさんが見つけたサイト、私も参考にしてました。きれいですよね。
誰もいないところをハイキング……難しいけど、ダウトフル・サウンドはかなり人が少ないらしいですよ。
このあたりは雨がちなところらしいんですが、滝のように岩を流れる様子もまた壮観のようです。
